First time I attended IIDA Merge, and very first time on the runway (ever) as a model - loved the experience!

 

IIDA: International Interior Design Association

Breakdown:

 

Each Interior Design team had 4 hours to complete/create an outfit for the runway show, by only using interior materials provided at the team's selected table (I.e. upholstery, color sample chips, carpet squares, wallpaper).  No one knew what materials they would have to work with.  The teams were allowed only one prop.  Each team previously submitted their mythical creature idea (sassy fairy) so the outcome was to reflect that.  Hair and makeup for the teams selected model followed, with a squeezed-in runway practice.  At 7-7:30pm, all models went to line up and show began.  All day event, 10am-10pm.
